The science that underpins Concentric’s products is rigorous and highly advanced.

Many of our colleagues in ag bioscience use a first-generation approach to study the action of one bacterium at a time, such as its ability to help plants fight disease.

Concentric’s scientists focus on the emerging science of microbial consortia— combinations of bacteria and fungi that do not usually cohabit in nature.

Following seven years of R & D, Concentric perfected and patented a platform technology that uses fermentation to combine these microbes to function in synergy, like a biological factory, to the benefit of growers. The results of our field trials show that defined, mixed communities of microbes do, in fact, create powerful effects that enable plants to reach their full growth or yield potential.

A Delicate Dance: Creating Synergistic Microbial Communities

The power of our science lies in our ability to use advanced microbiological techniques to isolate individual microbial strains based on their compatibility with one another and other factors.

We have identified and field-tested a group of six microbial strains that perform best for growers on farms and in greenhouses.

In producing microbial consortia products for field use, we maintain a consistent quality by subjecting each production batch to microbial, chemical/biochemical and bio-functional analysis. This ensures a high quality of performance when these products are used by our customers and commercial partners.

First Patent in 2015

In November 2015, Concentric was issued its first patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect Concentric’s microbial consortia technology, fermentation process, and unique microbial products. That initial patent is now in the process of issuing in major jurisdictions around the world.

NEW FRONTIERS

Concentric’s scientists are currently at work on biological formulations that solve economically devastating diseases in crops such as strawberries, tomatoes and potatoes.

Our goal remains the same: To continue development of sustainable microbial formulations that improve crop yields, shorten growing periods, and create healthier, more resilient soils for farmers around the world.
